This is tower No 74 of 103 towers built to withstand Napolean when he threatened to cross the channel in 1803. This one was the last in the chain and completed too late (1810) to be useful as Napolean had been defeated in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805. It has had a varied history but is now the Seaford Museum and one of the few towers open to the public.
