CLIFF GARDENS

BUOYS

Situated along the length of the meander path around the beds, three buoys have been installed. They are designed to represent the elements: Earth, Air & Water. They are painted with flags form the the International Code of Signals (ICS) a standardised series of signals – encompassing the use of flags (https://nmmc.co.uk/2024/06/guide-to-nautical-flags/}. See if you can identify what each of the buoys represent.

They will have bench seating to enable people to sit, relax and watch the plants grow. The bench slats will house sponsorship plaques (as at the Shoal) but this time we hope that the dedications will also be forward looking for our children and grandchildren - pledges that we will 'try to do our bit' to mitigate our own effects on climate change which will impact future generations.
