A Climate Change Garden showcasing our amazing and beautiful local flora of the south coast and the Seven Sisters. The main aim of the garden is to explain climate change in the context of Seaford and what we can do about it. There are 7 beds which show how plants colonise hostile environments, establish biodiverse communities and contribute to surviving climate change through their connections to the environment.
The garden is based on a design by Christian Funnell & Gabby Tofts and the original idea created by local residents to transform an ugly unmade up road into an attractive garden. It has been constructed with funding from Ouse Valley Climate Action, Lewes Community Infrastructure Levy and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The project has been managed by Seaford Community Partnership, Seaford Town Council and the South Downs National Park Authority. The construction work has been carried out by Truegrip Ltd, Christian Funnell and local volunteers.
